Myrniong Recreation Reserve Committee of Management take great pleasure in presenting our annual Music in the Park at the reserve located behind the school in Myrniong (a very small town so can't miss it).
The day will start at 1.00pm with a cricket match between CFA & Local legends vying for the coveted Golden Box trophy.
Live music will begin around 3.00pm with children from the Myrniong Primary School showing off their talent.
Some home grown bands and vocalists of the area will be on stage from 4.00 until 6.00. Those playing have done so before and we look forward to seeing what they have done over the last 12 months.
Our main acts begin at 6.00pm starting with the GRIZZLY BROS who are very well known in the Geelong area and beyond. They have a rockin' blues or Texas blues style and are very talented.
At around 7.30 STRINGY BARK McDOWELL performs his style of raw rootsy blues drawn from the great masters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries mixed with his eccentric aussie humour and home made instruments. This combines for a blues loving and ribtickling good time.
HEADLINE ACT SPECTRUM, Mike Rudd and Bill Putt will come on stage at around 9.00pm. Spectrum was one of the first underground bands of the early seventies to gain main stream acceptance. Their number one hit "I'll Be Gone" gave the band commercial success and legendary status. They now play a collection of blues classics and blues inspired originals.
We will also feature a pig on the spit from our local organic pork farmer, a jumping castle for the kids, a licensed bar selling packaged beer and wine as well as hot food and good coffee.
Everyone is welcome to come along and join this great community event. If you would like more details, please contact Greg Linsdell 0353687249 or Mark Powell 0353687249.
Cost $15.00 a family or $7.00 a single. |
